Portage salarial is a form of employment involving a tripartite relationship between a self-employed worker, a client and a "portage salarial" company.
In the "portage" system, the self-employed person chooses to work through an intermediary to provide a professional service to a customer.
The freelancer then contacts a "portage salarial" company, with which he or she signs an employment contract.
The freelance administration company, in turn, signs a freelance administration service contract with the customer, enabling each of the three parties to be bound by a contract, and the service to be carried out.
This is why the relationship is called "tripartite", because it involves three distinct players.
For the freelancer, this arrangement means that he or she benefits from employee status, and therefore from the same level of social protection.
Secondly, it relieves them of administrative tasks, which are taken care of by the freelance administration company.
Portage salarial is an alternative to traditional self-employment and business start-ups, but also a bridge and springboard between the worlds of salaried and non-salaried employment, particularly in the context of professional retraining.

Originating in France in the 2000s and enshrined in the French Labor Code in 2008, "portage salarial" is a new form of employment that has been around in French-speaking Switzerland for 10 years.
Although it has long kept a low profile, it is now becoming a must-have in French-speaking Switzerland.
But what exactly is it?
It's a triangular relationship between the portage consultant, the portage company and the client company.
It's a quick and easy solution, with numerous advantages for all concerned.
Simple operation

How much?
How much will I be paid and what sources of income will I have?
With The Workery, our freelance administration offer is based on six pillars, in order to create a true partnership and bring in several sources of income, over and above what you produce as a consultant:
- Portage classique: you bring in your own projects and are remunerated on the basis of the invoiced rate, after deduction of our margin (between 0 and 7%).
- Subcontracting: in off-peak periods, we may ask you to join our projects as a team member. Our margin is between 20% and 25% depending on the rate applied (on daily rates which are generally higher).
- Business contributor: You are remunerated on the projects or other business you bring to us, without having to participate in them. You act as a pure business contributor. You will receive a margin of between 5 and 10% of invoiced amounts.
- Margin reduction: Margins start at 7% and decrease by 1% per consultant or colleague brought in. This margin can even become negative, i.e. your salary can be higher than what is invoiced.
